All care should be taken when conducting trapping programs. The welfare of trapped animals is paramount.

  • Traps left out over night must be checked as early as possible and should not be subject to direct sun.

  • Approach and move traps containing trapped animals with slow gentle movements so as not to cause undue stress or panic.

  • If in the event a feral species is caught, ensure it is euthanized in the appropriate manner to reduce stress to the animal as much as possible.
